The Project of Promotion and Management for Industrial Waste Fuelization in 2020

Key Words:
Industrial Waste Fuelization, Solid Recovered Fuels, Methodology of Carbon reduction

Abstract:
During the implementation of this project, it completed the investigation of the list from domestic SRF manufacturers, users and their operational plans. There are currently 13 SRF manufacturers in operation, with a processing capacity of 213,800 metric tons per year. At the end of use, there are a total of 24 domestic fluidized bed boiler manufacturers and a total of 34 fluidized bed boilers, of which 7 actually use SRF as fuel. In 2020, SRF was used as boiler fuel for a total of 58,800 metric tons/year, and SRF also was used as boiler fuel for a total of 56,200 metric tons/year from January to September 2021.
This project had completed composition and property testing, including SRF (6 pieces), mixed-fired ash as CLSM substitute raw materials (12 pieces) and cement substitute raw materials (12 pieces), and provided evaluation and analysis from the test results. In addition, this project also had completed the reduction methodology for the greenhouse gas offset project of replacing fossil fuels with solid renewable fuels (draft). It has been sent to the Environmental Protection Agency for deliberation. It is expected that the approval will increase the incentives for domestic related companies to use SRF.
In other related parts, this project completed the design of Type 3 industrial waste fuelization policy description materials, and in the review of the "Technical Guidelines and Quality Specifications for the Manufacturing of Solid Renewable Fuels" part, cooperated with the industry to implement the rolling review and revised the specifications. This project assisted to draft the "Waste-to-fuel conversion plan" and " Solid Recovered Fuels (SRF) related management methods", and completed 4 meetings related to the topic of industrial waste fuel conversion, and assisted in promoting the manufacture and use of SRF. Manufacturers and competent authorities had a better understanding of the regulations for the manufacture or use of Solid Recovered Fuels (SRF).
