Sinotech-eng completed the soil pollution remediation work at a private gas station in Kaohsiung City and assisted the manufacturer in delisting the site

A private gas station in Kaohsiung City has been in operation since 1982. Because regulations on pollution prevention at gas stations were not yet complete in the past, there were leaks in the gas pumps and pipelines at this station in the early days.

In 2015, the Environmental Protection Agency's pollution inspection found that the underground soil was contaminated by oil. Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in the soil have all exceeded the soil pollution control standard value.
The pollution concentration is relatively high and the volume of contaminated soil has been estimated to exceed 1,000 metric tons. It was announced as a pollution control site by the Kaohsiung City Environmental Protection Bureau in 2017.

In this case, Sinotech-eng assisted the owner with supplementary pollution investigations, remediation construction method assessments and regular environmental monitoring, and assisted with matters related to environmental protection regulations and administrative assistance.

Since the control plan was approved in November 2016, it has actively handled pollution control and improvement work. After 5 years, it has overcome the complex environment of underground pipelines in the station and adjacent high-rise buildings. In order to reduce the risk of neighbor damage, we worked together with the owner to improve the concentration of soil and groundwater pollutants at this site to below the control standards.

On December 26, 2024, we obtained the delisting document from the Environmental Protection Bureau. This is a successful case of pollution improvement for our company using the on-site DPE and ISCO.
