The Water Work Department undertakes engineering services such as evaluation, planning, design, construction supervision, and project management of tap water distribution and purification system, sewers and wastewater treatment system, river and harbor pollution remediation, and reclaimed water treatment and distribution. In addition to continuously providing innovative treatment technologies, in response to environmental trends, we conduct policy analysis and think tank on carbon management, greenhouse gas reduction, and climate change adaptation.

Project Showcase

  • Taoyuan area sewage and sewer system BOT plan quality and safety management supervision agency commissioned technical services

      The company acts as the quality and safety management supervision agency of the plan, and performs document certification, engineering inspection and material inspection in accordance with the provisions of Article 9.4.1 of the BOT Investment Contract. By the end of 2019, the BOT plan has completed the second phase of the expansion of the water resource recycling center (with a processing capacity of 100,000 tons), a pipeline network of 116.25 kilometers and 100,648 households taken over by users.

  • Rapid sand filter improvement of Zhitan purification plant first facility.

      Original rapid sand filter of Zhitan first facility has been operated for more than 30 years. Low performance of filter has affected backwash efficiency and production stability, and cut down purification capacity. The goal of the construction project was to improve capacity of the rapid sand filter.
      Design capacity of the project is 500,000 CMD. The construction project is expected to increase water supply stability in Taipei metropolitan region and prolong system lifetime. Operation electricity and backwash water use are expected to drop significantly since longer filtration run and higher backwash efficiency. This construction project was awarded “Distinguished Public Construction award” by Taipei city government.   

  • Gangshan-Ciaotou Sewage Treatment Plant - Design and Construction Supervision

      Gangshan-Ciaotou Sewage Treatment Plant occupies an area of about five hectares and, when complete, will have a total capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day. The plant is designed to treat incoming wastewater with BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) and SS (suspended solid) levels of up to 170 mg/L. According to standards set by the Environmental Protection Administration, BOD and SS levels of the effluent can be no greater than 20 mg/L prior to discharge into the Dianbao River.
      Sinotech provided design and construction supervision services for phase one of the project. In this first phase, the plant has an average treatment capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day. Work items include a pumping station, pre-treatment and primary sedimentation clarifiers, three-stage feed AO biological treatment basins, secondary sedimentation clarifiers, disinfection tanks, a sludge treatment building, and a control center.
